Kommunistiska Föreningens May Day Statement:
Kommunistiska Föreningen marks and celebrates this year’s International Workers’ Day—which has been celebrated around the world for 135 years since it was started by the Second International. We want to highlight the tradition of class struggle that this day represents for the world’s workers, and we stand firm in our task of contributing to the reconstitution of the Communist Party of Sweden in service to this struggle of the proletariat.
May 1, 2025, will take place in the context of a further intensification of the fundamental contradictions in the world. In particular, the main contradiction between the oppressed peoples and nations of the world on the one hand and imperialism on the other. This is clear to anyone with eyes to see. And in these times of intensified contradictions, with increasing war, genocide, poverty, and starvation as the only measures taken by the imperialists in their futile attempts to counteract the systematic crisis they find themselves in, it is all the more important that we communists stand tall and shoulder the tasks and responsibilities required of us. That we unite under Maoism, study Marxism and concrete reality, and that we fight with all available means for the liberation of humanity, communism, and a classless society. One of these tasks is to reconstitute the Communist Party of Sweden as a vanguard, a fighting force, and a war machine.
Despite the pessimistic mood that the rulers of this rotten system are trying to instill in the peoples of the world, we communists have several reasons for revolutionary optimism, as we understand that the revolutionary situation is developing unevenly throughout the world. With the intensification of the systematic crisis in which imperialism finds itself, we see, in all corners of the world, how enormous resistance and rebellion against the aggression of the imperialists against the peoples of the world is developing. We see this in the heroic struggle of the Palestinian people against the Zionist monster that is the state of Israel. We see this in the solidarity fighters in Yemen who took up the same struggle and stood their ground where others gave way. We see this in the struggle of poor farmers in South America, especially Brazil, against the power of the landowners and the impoverishment of the people. Comrades, don’t we see everywhere how the peoples of the world are saying no—that they have had enough of this system?
Finally, Kommunistiska Föreningen would like to send our red and lively greetings to our sister parties and organizations within the International Communist League, to the struggling masses in both the oppressed and imperialist countries, and to the communists, combatants, and masses in the glorious struggles that show the way out of the crisis of imperialism—the People’s Wars in Peru, India, the Philippines, and Turkey!
Long live May Day!
Unite under Maoism!
Reconstitute the Communist Party of Sweden!
Long live the heroic national resistance in Palestine!
Long live the International Communist League!
